Although this is considered an easy yoga asana
it is an important one and is often done
between or before more difficult ones.
It stretches the legs and tones the abdomen.
There are numerous variations of this posture.
Sometimes both legs are spread in a seated position
and both arms are stretched out to the toes.
Or one foot can be bent in close to the
perineum and each leg stretched separately.
It is an excellent stretching pose and increases
flexibility to both the legs and the spine.
